This is the end result of layers and layers of photoshop work, after I've decided to make something useful with apophysis render. Loved the movie, and never found a high quality sceenshot of the mystic planet, so I made my own..

So, if you like it, feel free to use it. Oh, and if you want to modify it, I can't stop you, but I would appreciate it if you show me your mod...

Purple Star Burst. saw it over at Planet renders. used it in a sig too. but the other C4D in it ruined the sig. so i had to scrap it (had no .xcf to reload it in GIMP and remove it).

hm... interesting. but no, this wallpaper is photoshop and apophysis only. so, no render. no 3d... plain 2d. XD

well, well from the community i come from (the sig making community) we would call that thing a fractal. but if it is the focal point of a signature it is called a render.

*checks original render*

did you perhaps cut out some effects from the Apophysis image? because this is the fractal you seem to have used: [link]
